How many guests does Briza Azul accommodate?
Sixteen guests across five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. The ground floor has a queen suite and a twin room with connecting doors, suited to senior guests or families with young children. The upper floor has the queen ocean view suite with the best view on the property, and two family loft suites that each sleep five guests. One loft connects to the ocean view suite for larger family configurations. All rooms are fully air-conditioned with ensuite rain shower bathrooms.
What is the private beach like?
The beach at the foot of the property is accessed via a garden gate and is quiet, sandy and generally empty. Seven sea rocks sit just offshore, providing a natural perch for watching the surf and the horizon. Sun loungers are on the sand and torch lights are set along the beach path at dusk. The beach is private in character; on most days it is exclusively yours.
What does the concierge service include?
The resident concierge team are locally born and can arrange most things guests want to do on the southern coast: whale watching transfers and bookings, surf lessons and board hire, tuk-tuk services, restaurant recommendations, fresh seafood from the morning fish market, and day trips to Galle Fort, Coconut Tree Hill, Thalaramba Beach, the Star Fort in Matara and beyond.
Is the 20m pool accessible from the upper floor bedrooms?
Yes. The pool in the tropical garden is accessible from the main living room on the ground floor and directly from the upper-floor ocean view suites via the steel spiral staircase. The staircase is one of the signature interior features of the property.
Is Briza Azul suitable for mixed groups with children and adults?
Yes. The ground floor connecting rooms suit senior guests or families with young children needing easy, adjoining access. The upper family loft suites sleep five guests each and suit larger adult groups or families wanting more space. The communal living areas, pool and private beach provide shared spaces for the whole group throughout the day.
