Is Casa Tua directly on the beach?
The villa is beachfront, set directly on the boulder-strewn coastline with the Indian Ocean as its backdrop. A sandy beach is a short walk along the coast. The boulders in front of the property are part of the experience, and guests can sit among them at sunset.
How many guests can Casa Tua accommodate?
The villa sleeps up to 8 guests across three bedrooms, all ensuite and air-conditioned. The twin room can accommodate a third guest, making it well suited to families with children.
What makes the pool unusual?
The pool has a natural rock formation sitting in the middle of it. The boulders that line the shoreline continue through the garden and into the pool, giving it a character that cannot be replicated. It is the feature guests photograph most.
Is an in-house chef included in the rate?
Yes. The villa comes with a dedicated chef who prepares Sri Lankan and international meals daily, including breakfast. The food is consistently highlighted in guest reviews as a standout feature of the property. Grocery costs are covered separately by guests.
How far is Casa Tua from Colombo airport?
Approximately two hours by car via the Southern Expressway. The villa team can arrange airport transfers in advance.
Is the villa suitable for families?
Very much so. The ground-floor twin room is ideal for children, the pool is visible from the living areas, and the garden and boulder terrace provide a contained outdoor space. The villa team can arrange family-friendly excursions including boat safaris and turtle hatchery visits.
What is there to do near Balapitiya?
The Madu Ganga river safari is a ten-minute drive and one of Sri Lanka's most rewarding half-day experiences. Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery is 15 minutes away. Hikkaduwa's surf and coral reef are 20 minutes south. Geoffrey Bawa's Lunuganga estate is 30 minutes north. Galle Fort is an easy 45-minute day trip.
