The Six Weligama is a collection of six private beachfront villas on a quiet stretch of Midigama beach, on Sri Lanka's southern coast between Galle and Weligama. Each villa is designed around a different world beach, and no two are alike: not in palette, not in proportions, not in the specific character of the interiors. Amed takes its cues from Bali's black-sand volcanic coast, all dark timber and drama. Noosa references the clean sun-bleached brightness of Australia's Sunshine Coast. Kyra, Kaimu, Bari, and Cies each draw from their own source with equal conviction. The result is six villas that sit side by side on the same beach and feel like genuinely different places to stay.

Weligama

Weligama built its name on a single, unmistakable image: stilt fishermen perched over the shallows at dawn, a shot that's appeared in more travel features than almost anywhere else on the island. Behind that image is a wide, sheltered bay that's become the south coast's most reliable beginner surf break, a scattering of laid-back cafes, and Taprobane Island floating just offshore, a private islet with its own small legend attached.

What is The Six Weligama?
The Six Weligama is a collection of six individually designed private beachfront villas on Midigama beach on Sri Lanka's southern coast, between Galle and Weligama. Each villa takes its design inspiration from a different world beach: Amed from Bali, Noosa from Australia, Kyra, Kaimu, Bari, and Cies from their own distinct sources. Every villa has four king ensuite bedrooms across two floors, a private infinity pool, a private sauna, an in-villa spa room, and a dedicated butler and chef team. The six villas can also be booked together to create a 24-bedroom private beach estate.
How are the six villas different from each other?
Each villa is uniquely designed, drawing inspiration from a specific world beach. The palettes, proportions, artwork, fabrics, and furniture differ meaningfully between villas. Amed has a dark, dramatic aesthetic echoing Bali's volcanic black sand coast. Noosa is lighter and sun-bleached. The others each have their own distinct character. Even the layouts differ slightly between villas. Guests are encouraged to choose their villa based on aesthetic preference, and the official website allows browsing each property in detail before booking.
What is included in the villa rate?
The villa rate includes breakfast daily, a dedicated personal butler throughout the stay, an in-villa chef, daily housekeeping, use of the private pool, sauna, and spa treatment room, and full use of all villa amenities. All other meals and drinks are available on request and charged separately. Airport transfers and additional spa treatments are also available at additional cost.
Is there a restaurant at The Six Weligama?
There is no formal restaurant or bar. All dining and drinks are arranged in-villa by your dedicated butler and chef team. The menu is wide-ranging: pan-Asian feasts from the signature menu, beach bonfires with freshly caught seafood, Sri Lankan rice and curry, floating breakfast trays in the pool, or anything else the kitchen can produce within reason. A resident cocktail mixologist covers all drinks throughout the day.
Can I see turtles at The Six Weligama?
Yes. The beach in front of The Six Weligama is a protected turtle nesting site. Green and olive ridley turtles nest on the shoreline throughout the year, and the main hatchling season runs from December to May, when thousands of hatchlings make their way to the ocean. The natural rockpool adjacent to the estate occasionally hosts adult turtles as well, and it is safe for year-round swimming.
Is The Six Weligama family-friendly?
Yes. Baby cots are available on request, there is a children's menu, and babysitting is available with advance notice. Kids can enjoy movie nights, cooking demonstrations, and the safe natural rockpool adjacent to the estate. The beach is directly accessible from each villa. Maximum occupancy is 12 adults or 8 adults and 4 children per villa.
Can all six villas be booked together?
Yes. All six villas can be taken simultaneously for exclusive use of the entire estate, creating a 24-bedroom private beach compound with six pools, six saunas, and a full team of butlers, chefs, and support staff. This is one of the most capable large-group arrangements on Sri Lanka's southern coast and is suited to weddings, corporate retreats, and large family gatherings.
