Where exactly is Rivers Edge Ahangama located?
The villa sits on Thalduwa Island, a small river island in the Goviyapana, surrounded by coconut groves and tropical gardens. It is inland from Ahangama's coastline, about five minutes from Midigama Beach and ten minutes from Ahangama Beach by tuk-tuk.
How many guests can Rivers Edge Ahangama accommodate?
The villa sleeps up to 10 guests across five bedrooms, all ensuite and air-conditioned. The layout works well for families, groups of friends, or multiple couples travelling together.
Is an in-house chef included in the rate?
Yes. Breakfast is included daily. The chef also prepares lunch and dinner on request, with grocery costs covered separately by guests. Sri Lankan and international cuisine are both available, and dietary requirements are accommodated.
How far is Rivers Edge Ahangama from the beach?
Midigama Beach is a five-minute drive. Kabalana Beach is ten minutes. Ahangama Beach is ten minutes. Tuk-tuks are readily available and inexpensive.
How far is the villa from Colombo airport?
Approximately two and a half hours by car. Koggala Airport is just 15 minutes away. The villa team can arrange transfers in advance.
Is the villa suitable for surfers?
Absolutely. Ahangama and Midigama are two of Sri Lanka's best surf destinations, with breaks for every level from beginner to advanced. The villa team can arrange board rental, surf lessons, and transport to the breaks.
Can we do yoga at the villa?
Yes. The garden includes a dedicated yoga space, and sessions with an instructor can be arranged on request.
Is there anything to do on the river?
Catamaran trips on the Goviyapana can be arranged directly from the property. The river is peaceful, green, and a genuine alternative to a day at the beach.
